Blue Mountains Icons Project
Funded through a 2015 Blue Mountains City of the Arts Trust grant, the Dictionary of Sydney has partnered with Varuna, The Writers House to commission five writers to create essays relating to significant Blue Mountain sites – the Blue Mountains icons. The essays, now published, are:
- Echo Point by Delia Falconer
- Hydro Majestic by Julian Leatherdale
- Varuna by Mark O’Flynn
- Darwin’s Walk by John Low
- Mt Hay Plain and Lockley’s Pylon by Naomi Parry.
As part of this collaboration, four of the writers – Delia Falconer, Julian Leatherdale, Naomi Parry and John Low – will talk with Dr Lisa Murray at a special Sydney Writers Festival event in Katoomba:
